I am a licensed home inspector, a member of HIABC, and the proud owner of HomeShield Inspections. I have been in the Roofing and Construction Industries for over 25 years. This experience and exposure to a variety of homes has keenly developed my eye for detail and nurtured a passion for problem solving and troubleshooting.

About Me
I was born and raised in Powell River on the Sunshine Coast and enjoyed a childhood and upbringing filled with extended family gatherings and strong family ties. I frequently visit Powell River, as most of my family continues to reside there. I moved to Vancouver Island in 2000 and have enjoyed island life ever since. I live in the Comox Valley with my wife and step-son, and I have two grown daughters who live in and around Vancouver Island. I love the Comox Valley and that I can be at the top of Mount Washington or on the sandy shores of Kye Bay and anywhere that lies in between. My interests include home improvements, traveling, showshoeing, camping, and exploring the many hidden gems of spots around the island.
Experience and Knowledge
As with many industries along the coast, roofing is a seasonal and weather-permitting trade. For the duration of my career, I ran a successful roofing company, and in the off season and wetter months, I worked as a carpenter in the construction industry.
Roofing: I am a Journeyman Roofer and was a Licensed Roofing Contractor in the Comox Valley. Throughout my career I installed customized roofs, and designed, manufactured, and installed custom flashings on roofs and exteriors. My extensive experience with custom flashings and all roofing and exterior systems provides you added benefit to your home inspection.
Construction: I worked for 25+ years as a Carpenter in the Construction Industry before becoming a Licensed Home Inspector. My work in construction consisted of new homes, renovations and repairs. This has provided me extensive experience in home systems and components.
